My research, teaching and consulting activities are in the general area of electrical engineering and energy economics. Specifically, I develop and apply decision making techniques that achieve value for money that is, targeting the economic objective, considering also technical and environmental objectives. In general, using multi-objective optimisation or multi-criteria decision making techniques, I explore the best outcome or alternative to implement in an engineering system design or operation. Consequently, my work involves multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary activities and continuous liaising with colleagues from the physical sciences background including chemists, materialists and physicists as well as mathematicians and social sciences. This brings an overall positive environment and contributes towards the LOVE, HATE and PASSION of engineering systems, be it an electric vehicle, a photovoltaic system or a power system; developing balanced systems in economic and sustainable benchmarks of the future.
